A new book from Teresa Bassett due for release this April!
AR author Teresa Bassett is pleased to announce that her latest book is almost ready for release. Ten Twisty Tales is a collection of suspenseful short stories, all of which can be read as standalones. The anthology is aimed at young adults, like her previous books, but could be enjoyed by readers of any age from approximately thirteen and up.
“I’m really thrilled with the cover,” Teresa said. “Like my previous three, it has been designed for me by RoseWolf Design, and it really seems to sum up the themes and the feel of the stories.”
Here’s a bit more about the anthology:
A split-second decision. A life changed forever.
Decisions may be made in the blink of an eye, but their consequences can last a lifetime. If you
enjoy stories with tricky dilemmas at their heart, you’ll love these twisty tales all about ordinary
people and their choices: sometimes good, sometimes bad … and sometimes deadly.
A law-abiding student’s life unravels after her boyfriend begs for help in plotting revenge.
A loving daughter is thrilled when her dad takes her and her brother on an unexpected day out.
So why is there a gun in the glovebox?
A lonely fifteen-year-old can’t believe her luck when a popular highflier seeks her out. The new
friend exudes confidence and charm, but what lies beneath that perfect exterior?
“I’ve always been fascinated by the ongoing battle between good and evil,” said Teresa. “It’s
a life-or-death struggle which permeates so much of our fiction, as well as our real, everyday
lives. I think a lot about what makes people tick – why some make selfish or careless choices,
while others choose to do the right thing, often at great personal cost.
“When you’re growing up, particularly in the difficult teenage years, these kinds of questions
can feel especially relevant. You’re trying to find your place in the world, develop your sense
of right and wrong, and it’s far from easy. Conflicting ideas fly at you from all directions:
parents, teachers, your own friends (and frenemies!). And unlike when you’re older, you
might not have many experiences to draw on when faced with a problem, to help you make
up your mind.
“These ten separate stories explore a range of troubles, from deceitful friends to thorny
relationships and family crises. Some are darker than others, though there’s often a glimmer
of light shining through.”
Teresa’s new book is in the final stages of production, and will be with us very soon. Watch
